Testing Testing

So in this time of COVID only with 72 hrs to departure does it feel even slightly appropriate to start seriously thinking about this years summer holiday. What a few months ago was a weekend mini break has now become the main event. Ambitiously and naively we hoped at the turn of the year for something US and sizeable. As options faded an inbound cancellation of our original Iceland plan meant an opportunity to take a couple of extra days and turn our trip into something approaching progress on the holiday front. - Swimming in thermal/hot springs

- Running across lava fields or up/around a volcano

- Finding spiritual and religious awakening at the feet of the Nordic gods

On a more practical note we have car hire booked for the last 2 days of the trip so the likely split is Reykjavik for the first half and the rest of Iceland for the second half of the trip.  But the real bombshell of this first post is the fact that (unlike all previous travel blogs you can see in the links) I am going to be missing my true partner in crime, the blogging genius that is Carys. It really is a case that Mum (and Dad) have gone to Iceland. (without me)
